It was another great Sunday. I just finished listening to the first of the Tattoo messages. Jon hit it out of the park with the message of how God sees us when we suffer pain in our lives. And that part of our healing process is seeing that God was with us all along. A big thank you goes to Allyssa Busch for sharing her story of the marks in her life.
Sunday afternoon, 28 men showed up at Lake Benson Park to hang out, eat some good food and play games like frisbee, bocce and cornhole. I had a nice time hanging out and getting to know some great guys better.
Maybe its just me but I would guess that True North has had first time visitors every Sunday this summer.
Thank goodness the Olympics are over. Now I can get some sleep at least until 2012 in London.
If I could make a wish, I would like to run a race with Usain Bolt. I'm sure it would be amazing to see how fast he would leave me in his dust. This guy is on a different plane from everyone on the planet.
Jon seems to think that if me and him played Misty May and Kerri Walsh in beach volleyball we would score at least 1 point. I say no way. He thinks they might have an errant server. You won't see it in the minutes, but those are the kind of things we discuss at elder meetings. Oh yeah, I read that the reason they wear bikinis for beach volleyball is because sand accumulates in their clothes when they dive for a ball. Bikinis are more comfortable for this reason. Go figure.
Listen for the huge cheer tomorrow morning from most of Wake County parents when their kids go back to school.
I'm too young to have a kid in high school.
God is great.
